Wonderful Vintage Wooden Camel Stool with Age Worn Leather Cushion
A mid to late 20th century camel stool. I reckon 1970’s.
I am not sure what the wood is, but will be some wood from the area of manufacture. It is maybe teak. Certainly, a hardwood.
The frame is very solid and well preserved. To each foot there are decorative round brass plaques.
The cushion has a brown leatherette covering, this is original. Very much age worn but full of charm and authenticity. There is a repair to the front and back seam and other general wear but it is perfectly fit for purpose.
The cushion is loose and the wood underneath in very good condition.
The condition of the general frame is also very good.
The two rounded metal tops lift off and as there are hinges underneath, presumably it folds up, although I have been unable to do so.
This is a great stool, camel stools are normally wobbly, this is very solid. The condition, for the age, is very good.
