Wonderful Vintage Mixed Wood and Gesso Moulded Decorative Wall Mirror

An unusual mirror with the presentation credit unusually shared between wood moulded decoration and wood.
This early 20th century mirror has a wooden carcass which unusually has an oak veneer and also gesso moulded decoration to the exterior and aperture.
Both finishes have been covered in gold and this has very much worn throughout the decades, leaving a delightful age worn shabby chic finish.
Although there are a few pieces of gesso that have been disturbed and missing to the outside edges the, moulded edges are remarkably well preserved.
As indeed is the thick original glass which is surprisingly well kept and in very good condition.
The original backing appears to have been lost and replaced by card behind the mirror and a brown thick paper that you can see in the images which is torn and loose in places.
I think this is a really beautiful mirror with facts of character and the wood and moulded decoration making it one of one that also looks very interesting as well as aesthetically pleasing.
