The question is - could this be the real deal? Could this be the original Renoir, rather than the painting in the National Gallery in Washington? Clearly this is not the case, but this is an intriguing painting. It is in oil and it is a replica of Renoir's "Girl with Watering Can", it is even signed by a Renoir (impersonator) and dated 76 (1876 copy). "A Girl with a Watering Can" is an 1876 Impressionist oil painting on canvas by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The work was apparently painted in Claude Monet's famous garden at Argenteuil, and may portray one of the girls in Renoir's neighborhood in a blue dress holding a watering can. A delightful painting which someone obviously chose to copy. It is well painted, but clearly not as good as the original. Some of the pant has suffered tiny damage see top right, and a few other areas. The painting has also collected some dust/dirt so you might want to clean it up. It is still very presentable as is. The vintage wooden frame is lovely - very attractive. Gorgeous grain showing. Very little wear and tear, although there is some commensurate with age. Please have a good look at photos and video for further info.
