Wonderful 1970’s Shelves Bookcase Hallway Living Room Unit in Farrow and Ball Cream with Gold Highlights
These units were produced in the 1970’s. They were made of a composite wood with a mahogany veneer. Really popular as they are so versatile and such a good practical size.
The shelf is adjustable and has three separate settings. The two drawers run well and are clean.
I have applied two coats of undercoat and three topcoats of Farrow and Ball White Tie estate eggshell.
Farrow and Ball describe White Tie as follows-
Our prettiest white is named after the old, pre-brightened, starched cotton used for white tie jackets. White Tie brings a gentle warmth to any room and is deepened with a touch of black pigment.

I have painted the inner trim with an artist’s acrylic gold and again wire woolled this to null any shine and leave a shabby chic finish.
This is hand painted so expect brush strokes and minor idiosyncrasies to the finish.
