Vintage watercolour painting, original artwork, European town scene with river in foreground - framed and mounted in vintage glazed frame

A lovely watercolour painting of a European town scene or village scene, resting on the side of a riverbank. Lovely church tower / steeple can be seen in the background. The style of the church tower suggests to me that this is European rather than British. The large properties also look to be more continental with solid construction and thatch roofs. THe river in the foreground is crossed by a delightful wooden pale bridge - perfect for the locals to clamber over on their way to town. The detail o the painting is lovely - it is not a massively sophisticated piece of artwork, but it is well executed. The painting is in good vintage condition with a small bit of possible staining on top side left - although not sure this isn't a mark by the painter. The mount is a good quality cream hard paper which has a few marks but nothing substantial. The frame is definitely vintage and glazed - it is wooden but painted a slight bronze metallic colour - quite matt so not harsh and shiny. It goes incredibly well with the muted colours of the painting. All in all, this is a super original watercolour which deserves a new lease of life and be hung in your home.
