Beautiful watercolour, water colour, original artwork of the Lake District. A scene encapsulating everything wonderful about that part of the world - green, colour, water, fells, peace, beauty. The painting is very adept - lovely detail of the grasses, rocks, stones in the bridge, the farm house, and then the fells behind. The artist probably stopped and looked at this view countless time - it is painted from the heart. In excellent condition. Mounted by a thick card cream mount, with hard drawn framing - 1980s? Framed in a glazed wooden frame with some gilt edging. Ready to hang. Signed by J Cornforth. Label on the back with his name too. Few marks on the frames etc, but all in all in excellent condition - pls look at photos and zoom in.
