What a treat to find a beautiful watercolour of near Litlington in Sussex. Painted by a local artist, Patricia Griggs, who has exhibited many times and has work sold displayed worldwide. This particular delightful painting of Litlington in East Sussex. It must be the Cuckmere river in the foreground. Wonderful painting. Signed by Griggs. Beautifully framed in thick double card mount, and a light wooden frame. Ready to hang and quite lovely is a personal note on the back that the painting was originally bought for someone's 75th birthday, and bought at a gallery in Lewes, East Sussex. It would be a fitting tribute to give this painting a new home and display it for all to enjoy. The painting is on vgc, the mount has some marking and staining possibly from age, more noticeable on the bottom edge, but not too bad at all. Frame has commensurate knocks and marks from storage and age. All in all, this vintage watercolour and glazed frame and perfect for display. Please see photos for more detail.
