A wonderful large painting of the South Downs with a Sussex Windmill in the foreground. Fantastic landscape scene. The foreground is brown and autumnal except I don't think it is autumn, I think it is more likely a ploughed field or one that is parched from the sun. The clouds and sky suggest it is a summer scene. Magnificent large clouds and blue blue sky. I live near one of these windmills and I was wondering if this was it, but I don't think it is. It is a wonderful take of a typical Downs scene and days gone by. Could have been painted in late 20th century or 100 yrs earlier as the landscape in this spot is likely unaltered - thankfully!. In fabulous condition. Grey mount is also in very good condition. Glazing too. Professionally framed and ready to hang. The multi toned frame does have occasional knocks and bumps but nothing to detract from this delight. Please see photos and video.
