A delightful and beautifully crafted Victorian whatnot or side table.
This versatile piece could serve multiple functions, from a shelving unit to a side table or even a bedside table.
It is approximately 150 years old and, for its age, is in very good condition.
The surfaces are made of pine, beautifully covered in an outstanding walnut veneer with further inlaid detailing. There are some signs of wear to the finish, mainly on the top, and a small piece is missing from the front left. However, considering its age, the finish is in better condition than you might expect.
The darker wood turnings, likely mahogany, are very well preserved, featuring elegant finials on the top and legs. A particularly lovely touch is the set of quality brass and porcelain castors on the legs.
This is such a pretty little piece, and its relatively small size makes it a perfect fit for a compact space. If you’re looking for something with vintage charm, class, and a touch of opulence, this piece ticks all the boxes.
