Vintage Victorian Stripped Dressing Table Mirror Swing Mechanism.
This is a genuine Victorian swing mirror. It is all fully intact although the knobs for tightening are newer, but they have been stained in well so that does not really notice and they actually suit the bobbin supports very well.
The original finish has been stripped at some point and a natural wax finish has been applied.
It is made of a mixture of mahogany, the base being a mahogany veneer on pine.
The beech knobs to the sides tighten the mechanism so you can secure the mirror at whatever angle do you wish.
There is quite a lot of spotting on the glass which I hope you can make out in the images, so please take a good look. You can replace the glass but I actually think it adds some real authenticity to the piece.
Sits on four bun feet.
