Vintage Victorian Shelf Platform Brass Decorative Fender Fireplace Guard
Beautiful age worn decorative Victorian brass fender.
The age really shows itself on the shot I have shown of the underneath.
These fenders with the platform tops are so attractive, the 'shelf' presumably used for resting and keeping things warm.
It is fully intact still. I would say to the lower part of the main stretch of the front there are certainly imperfections and it certainly sits a bit further inwards than it originally would have done.
However, this was a working piece of fireplace furniture and it is just merely signs of age, and just adds character and authenticity.
I have left the finish as you see it in the lovely gold colour. It would of course clean up to a shiny gold should you require, but I have left as is as I know a lot of people like to keep brass and copper in this condition as it will not need to be repeatedly cleaned!
