This is a lovely set of cubbyholes. Although vintage in appearance they are poppy about 20 years old.
The black shelves are made of solid wood with a boarded backing. The finish just seems to be a black paint that has been absorbed into the surface of the word so the grain is visible.
The chunky and ornate painted white frame gives the cubby holes are very classy and yet quirky appearance.
This would be particularly fantastic in your bathroom or kitchen but would look great pretty much anywhere in the house displaying your precious and decorative things.
