This is a unique set of three vintage bespoke freestanding shelving units handcrafted from top quality solid elm, likely dating from the 1970s. The clean, minimalist design is characteristic of mid-century modern and rustic farmhouse styles, with a simple open-frame construction that suits a wide range of interiors. Each shelf has a rectangular form with spacious open fronts and sides, making them perfect for displaying books, vinyl records, houseplants, pottery, or curated collections. These units can be used individually or together to create a striking continuous display along a wall or arranged separately to break up space in an open-plan room. Perfect in a living room, but also a kitchen too.

The elm wood retains a warm honey tone finish with a soft sheen. They are incredibly well preserved.
They look to be bespoke and, according to the seller, they had sat in the same house since they were made, hence the excellent condition. There is one tiny dent to a top. Otherwise they are rock solid.
These offer extremely versatile storage. You can use them as low bookcases, kitchen storage racks, plant stands, or media display shelves. Because of their open construction, they feel airy and light even in smaller rooms.

This set is in good vintage condition consistent with its age. Each shelf shows charming variations in wood grain and subtle colour differences that speak to the handmade nature of the set. If you love functional retro furniture that’s both practical and full of character, these are ideal pieces to add a touch of rustic warmth and mid-century style to your living space.

Please note the centre shelf, which has just the two shelves, the shelves have a lip on top and protrude outwards a few cm.

DELIVERY.
This product will be delivered by hand by a proper furniture courier.
Delivery is free to mainland England and Wales only.
There will be a cost anywhere else so please, contact us for a quote.
This will cost us between £60-80 to deliver, so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
