A really rather wonderful 1930 to 1950 solid oak monkey chair.
They're called monkey chairs because of their small size, far smaller than a normal carver a chair, so they are deemed playful, like a monkey!
This one is of fine quality and very well preserved.
The frame is made of solid oak and made to a very high standard. The oak has been finished with the medium to dark oak stain prevalent in furniture of this era. I love the pair of small rounded feet to the front.
The leatherette upholstery is still in close to excellent condition, the backrest is well padded and the seat has a lift out cushion. There is a zip to this and it appears to have a more recent piece of foam applied.
The backrest upholstery is surrounded with brass studding.
This is larger than a child's chair so if you're looking for a comfortable occasional chair this is perfect as it has a small footprint but will seat and I was adult with ease.
Please refer to the photographs for a closer look at the details and view the overall condition. Feel free to message with any questions.
