This beautiful solid oak trolley, dating from the early to mid-20th century, has been hand-sanded to reveal its stunning natural grain. The original dark stain has been completely removed, exposing the light golden tones of the oak. It’s clear that this was a labour intensive process, but the result is simply charming.

The wood has been left unfinished, offering endless possibilities for customization. You could sand it further with a finer paper, though personally, I think it looks lovely as it is. Whether you choose to paint, polish, oil, or stain it, the bare wood provides a perfect blank canvas. Apart from the lower platform, which is made of thick plywood, the trolley is entirely solid oak. The plywood has also been sanded, blending seamlessly with the rest of the piece.

The trolley features an ingenious cantilever system for the drop-leaf flaps. To raise the flaps, simply lift one up until you hear a click, then release it to create a flat surface. To lower them, lift the opposite flap slightly to release the mechanism, and the flap will drop smoothly. The mechanism works flawlessly, making this piece as practical as it is stylish.

This trolley is highly versatile, with many possible uses. It could even serve as a small dining table for two, as there is 67 centimetres of legroom beneath the raised flaps. The castors roll smoothly, and the entire piece is intact and functional.

This will cost us between £60-80 so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
