You will either love this table or turn your nose up at it. It is a beautiful late Victorian side, coffee or occasional table but would also make a very good bedside table.
It is very well made with a quality hardwood that I cannot identify because every surface is painted however it is a heavy table which indicates that it is 100% hardwood.
As I say, you will love or hate it because it has what can only be described as a distressed finish. However I will add at this juncture that the finish is distressed, however the table is solid and intact so it is merely the finish that you may find wanting!
It has been, what many would consider, very badly painted in a white gloss paint. White gloss which which is now off white. I've no idea why iwhite floss often starts to turn a slight cream with age.
There are numerous imperfections to the finish however if you like Bohamian distressed shabby chic furniture, which is still very popular you will love this. I have to say especially because it does have a gloss surface to the top this is very practical as it can just be wiped down. The top has a sort of crackle glaze effect which is actually really lovely.
