Vintage Set of Large Painted Cubby Holes Shelves in Farrow and Ball Wimborne White with Gold Highlights.
This is a superb set of mid-20th century cubbyholes. They are made of solid wood with a boarded backing. I'm not sure what the word is but it is a heavy set of shelves so it'll be some sort of hardwood and good quality.
Cubby holes are always very popular as fantastic for display and generally very practical.
When I bought these they were already painted, I have added three further topcoats of Farrow and Ball Wimborne White estate eggshell.
Farrow and Ball describe Wimborne White as follows-
This just off white is named after the market town of Wimborne in Dorset and home to Farrow & Ball. 'Only a shade away from a pure white, the addition of the smallest amount of warm yellow pigment creates a very versatile shade which is just a little softer than All White.'
I have painted the fronts with an artist’s acrylic gold wire woolled this to null any shine and leave a shabby chic finish.
This is hand painted so expect brush strokes and minor idiosyncrasies to the finish.

Having just been painted I would consider these to be in very good condition.
A few areas of the thick ply board backing have puffed out a bit, presumably it was caps in a garage or somewhere damp in some point. A possibly though this is not affected any of the displayed surface.
