This distinctive vintage reupholstered stool has been beautifully revived with a rich, contemporary fabric featuring an exotic botanical and animal print in deep charcoal and green tones. The upholstery, reminiscent of House of Hackney or Timorous Beasties–style design, pairs perfectly with the stool’s original distressed painted wooden frame, likely dating from the 1930s–1950s. The frame features turned legs and stretcher supports, all finished in a soft aged grey with a naturally worn patina that enhances its rustic, timeworn charm.

The stool is in good refurbished condition, with the structure solid and the seat newly padded and covered. The subtle imperfections in the paintwork, and purposeful shabby chic chalk finish, add authenticity and character, making it a perfect piece for eclectic, bohemian, or cottage-style spaces. The fabric is a superb choice to go well with the grey stool structure. It has been reupholstered by an unprofessional upholsterer, but they have done a good job. The original fabric is underside I believe. You can tell it is not a professional job, as it is perfectly adequate but not as neat, and the silver pins around the side are not individually fastened. There are some a little loose, incl some little loose fabric in one area. If you're a perfectionist, you may choose to redo the edging, but if not it can be left as is. The stool is priced as not being professionally finished.
