This is a vintage-style coffee table featuring a striking glass-covered map inlay, framed with solid brass. It beautifully balances function and visual interest, bringing a touch of mid-century or explorer's den charm to any room.

Top Surface:
The table features a printed reproduction of a 17th-century world map—possibly inspired by the works of renowned cartographers like Blaeu or Hondius. The map is mounted on a hardboard base with a dark green velvet-like fabric, adding depth and richness to the design.

Frame and Legs:
The table is constructed from thick, solid wood—likely teak—stained a rich dark brown, bordering on black. Brass strips are fitted around the perimeter, both reinforcing the construction and adding a decorative edge. The brass is affixed with visible flat-headed nails and screws, enhancing its utilitarian aesthetic.

Condition:
The overall condition is very good, with expected signs of wear. The wooden legs show some scuffs and finish loss, suggesting either age or intentional distressing. The brass trim has a naturally aged patina, giving the piece an authentic antique feel. There are light scratches on the brass but no dents or corrosion.
On one side, near the brass corner fitting, the green fabric has worn through slightly, revealing the wood base beneath. This does not affect the structural integrity and is noted for accuracy.

Despite the minor flaws, this piece remains a beautiful and functional table with strong character—ideal for a study, lounge, or vintage-inspired space.

These will be delivered by hand by a proper furniture courier.
Delivery is free to mainland England and Wales only.
There will be a cost anywhere else so please, contact us for a quote.
This will cost us between £60-80 to deliver, so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
