Hard to capture these in the photographs, but I hope you can see them clearly enough. They are a lovely pair of vintage prints / lithographs in black and white of the New and Old Castles in Stuttgart. They have their original labels on them titled "Das Neue Schloss in Stuttgart" and "Das Alte Schloss in Stuttgart". They are in lovely thick cream mounts with a hand drown edge, and a gilt wooden frame. Both glazed and ready to hang. Likely framed in the 1980s - perhaps they were bought in older frames and have been reframed as these.
The two castles are of great historic and architectural significance in Stuttgart. The Alte Schloss, or Old Castle, dates back to the 10th century, and then the new or Neue Schloss, dates from the 18th century. They represent Stuttgart's evolution from a medieval town to a Baroque city and beyond.
The prints are very attractive and in very good condition, likely from the 1800s originally. The labels are the originals from what I can see and are a little aged in colour, but these give the overall picture more of an authentic vintage look and feel. Please see photos and video.
