Vintage Pierced Painted Wall Mirror in Farrow and Ball Wimborne White.
A very impressive mirror. The frame is made of wood with a composite moulded covering. It originally had a tired gold finish.
It is pre-war.
A primer has been added and then three coats of Farrow and Ball Estate Eggshell which has a nice soft sheen to it. I have then rubbed it down so the gold underneath shows through and leaves the contemporary finish. Please note this is hand painted so expect minor flaws. However please take a good look at the images and zoom in to check out how lovely the frame is!
To the corners some of the gesso has been lost but as the areas have been painted over this is not really to the overall detriment to the mirror.
Farrow and Ball tempter-
This just off white is named after the market town of Wimborne in Dorset and home to Farrow & Ball. Only a shade away from a pure white, the addition of the smallest amount of warm yellow pigment creates a very versatile shade which is just a little softer than All White.
The glass is bevelled and in great condition for the age, some small marks but for the age really good.
The frame is pierced which adds some real character to the frame.
Eyelets and wire for hanging.
