Vintage Painted Shabby Chic Standard Lamp Turned and Fluted ‘Washed’ in Farrow and Ball French Gray
It is 1950’s or 60’s
A very elegant design with the turned column and the fluted base.
I have sanded the original finish down a bit and applied two primer coats.
On top of these I applied a single coat of Farrow and Ball French Gray eggshell.
This leaves a washed effect. Three coats would cover the white 100%, so one leaves a lovely washed effect with the white peaking through. Have a good look at the images.
French Gray is really much more green than grey, but characterfully flits between the two depending on the light and time of day. Taking inspiration from French decoration and wallpapers used in the 19th century, it creates the most relaxed of rooms.
Leaves a very contemporary shabby chic finish.
