Vintage Painted Shabby Chic Standard Lamp in Annie Sloan Cream and Gold Acrylic. Working.

A beautiful hand restored painted standard lamp.
The lamp is from the mid 20th Century. It looks lie it was rewired in the 80’s and it works perfectly well. You ay welk want to get it pat tested.
We have painted onto an existing finish 3 coats of an Annie Sloan cream chalk paint.
It has then been hand painted….no transfer….in an artist’s gold acrylic.
After drying we wet the finish and rub over with a damp cloth. This removes a really thin layer of paint and leaves the striped and distressed shabby chic finish leaving the edges with the wood showing through to boast a very contemporary finish.
I then varnish.
To varnish we use a ‘Polyvine’ varnish.
This is a child, pet and food safe varnish.
We apply two coats of a ‘dead flat finish’ and a ‘satin finish’ so the finish has a sheen to it.
