Vintage Painted Oval Wall Mirror in Farrow and Ball Wimborne White Bespoke Hand Painted Decorated Top
This was originally a mirror from a 1910-20 satinwood dressing table. The holes to the side have been filled.
It is nicely made with a lovely decorated top.
I applied two undercoats and then three coats of Farrow and Ball estate eggshell before rubbing down with wire wool. This has exposed some of the wood detail and left a contemporary shabby chic finish.
Please note this is hand painted so expect irregularities to the finish.
Farrow and Ball describe Wimborne White as follows-
This just off white is named after the market town of Wimborne in Dorset and home to Farrow & Ball. 'Only a shade away from a pure white, the addition of the smallest amount of warm yellow pigment creates a very versatile shade which is just a little softer than All White.'
The original glass is bevelled and well preserved for the age, some minor marks behind the actual glass, but nothing that really notices except with close inspection and what there is merely adds character and authenticity.
