Vintage Painted Mirror with Hooks in Farrow and Ball Blackened
A delightful, simple and very practical painted mirror. The carcass is made of solid pine.
I have applied two coats of primer and three top coats of Farrow and Ball Blackened Estate Eggshell.
Farrow and Ball describe Blackened thus-
‘Our coolest white, with the slightest hint of grey, was historically made with the addition of lamp black pigment gathered from the smoke of burning oil lamps. Blackened sits perfectly with each of our Architectural Neutrals for a minimal look or stronger industrial feel.’
In layman’s terms it is a very light blue/grey!
This is hand painted so expect brush strokes and minor idiosyncrasies to the finish.
I have lightly sanded the edges so the wood shows through.
I thought very useful hooks, this would be very useful in a hallway, bathroom or kitchen.
It was made in the 1980s and you can see to either side are two plastic holes in which to rest of the mirror on screws.
