Vintage Painted Bespoke Wall Mirror in Farrow and Ball White Tie Gold Highlights
The mirror is not too old, but old enough to have a dated finish!
There is some lovely detail to the frame so I decided to upcycle.
I have applied two coats of undercoat and three topcoats of Farrow and Ball White Tie estate eggshell.
Farrow and Ball describe White Tie as follows-
Our prettiest white is named after the old, pre-brightened, starched cotton used for white tie jackets. White Tie brings a gentle warmth to any room and is deepened with a touch of black pigment.
I have painted the outside and the aperture with an artist’s acrylic gold wire woolled this to null any shine as well as the Farrow and Ball and leave a shabby chic finish. Where the finish has been removed some of the gold of the original finish shows through and it all blends in extremely well.
This is hand painted so expect brush strokes and minor idiosyncrasies to the finish.
There is a boarded backing and eyelets and string.
