Vintage Oval Painted Mirror in Farrow and Ball and Gold Trim Hand Painted and Unique
The mirror is fairly modern. I have keyed the original finish and painted the frame.
I have applied two coats of undercoat and three topcoats of Farrow and Ball ‘Blackened’ estate eggshell. This leaves a subtle and soft sheen to the finish. I have sanded the edges so the original finish shows through.
I have painted the inner trim with an artist’s acrylic gold and again wire woolled this to null any shine and leave a shabby chic finish,
Farrow and Ball describe Blackened thus-
‘Our coolest white, with the slightest hint of grey, was historically made with the addition of lamp black pigment gathered from the smoke of burning oil lamps. Blackened sits perfectly with each of our Architectural Neutrals for a minimal look or stronger industrial feel.’
In layman’s terms it is a very light blue/grey!
The glass is in good condition.
There are two holes to the back for hanging, however I have also added wire and eyelets.
Very good condition.
