Vintage original watercolour of the Acropolis, Athens - excellent depiction, mounted and vintage glazed frame, good size, water colour

Wonderful original painting of the Acropolis. Captures the ancient building beautifully, the light shining around it and the historic site celebrating its presence. Watercolour captures the detail well; deep colours, not wishy washy watercolour. Lovely picture, likely by a very good amateur artist. Frames well with vintage hand drawn/lined mount, glazed vintage wooden frame with inlay of gilt colour. Mount and frame date this to about 70s/80s I would say. Actual painting in vgc. Mount is a bit faded and marked in places, but can still be displayed as is or replace. Few marks and nicks on the frame commensurate with age but can definitely be ready to hang. Perhaps this picture reminds you of your travels, or you’re an antiquity expert, or you are interested in vintage art. Wonderful picture of an incredible piece of history.
