A quintessentially English classic original still life watercolour.
I cannot find a signature, but certainly the frame is late Victorian or Edwardian.
A wooden frame with a moulded gesso covering and gold decoration.
There are areas where the frame has lost it’s gold finish and the gesso comes through. In many ways this simply adds a little character to the picture.
Thick card gold mount.
I have to say this is a really lovely painting and well executed.
It is just slightly too small for the mount and there is a few mm gap between the subject and the mount.
Otherwise in good condition with a boarded backing and ready to hang.
It looks fantastic, such a lovely painting that looks fantastic in the genuine vintage frame.
