Vintage Oak Barley Twist 20s Piano Stool with Compartment
This will need to be reupholstered but what a magnificent oak frame. Oak is obviously a top quality word and this stool is very well made and of fine quality. Beautiful barley twisted legs, very much commensurate with the fashion of the 20s and 30s where I would date the construction of this stool.
It is fair to say the current upholstery has been accomplished in a must do better mode, the fabric is still in okayish condition but was merely stapled in place around the foam seat and what remains of the hem is to put it politely, disappointing!
However, the main thing is the frame is in very good condition with just a few surface marks. Customerary lift up seat which reveals a useful compartment. I have to say I would personally replace the chain which stops the seat from falling back too far when open. I think the current one is inadequate and bodged.
Yes, needs a little bit of work but the main thing is it has a beautiful frame and you can choose your own fabric to suit your own interior décor.
