Vintage Metal Copper Oval Mirror Ribbon Decoration Early 20th Century.
This is a superb early 20th century copper effect oval mirror. I'm not sure if copper is the actual base metal, so I am wisely choosing the words copper effect. It is a typical finish for the early 20th century to have the copper look with the darkened areas as well that you can see at 3,6,9 and 12:00. I don't know how it was done but this was imposed on the base metal and then a lacquer applied to keep it well preserved.
It has a lovely ornate ribbon motif to the top which is metal as well.
Original thick bevelled glass. I would describe this as in good condition. There are some surface marks and a few scratches however the general look and reflection is very good and is largely devoid of the customary spotting.
As you can see in the images, there are two mirror plates to either side of the ribbon motif for hanging. Currently there is wire between them which may or may not be suitable.
Stained boarded backing.
