It is always so lovely to come across a local British artist and their work. This is one of those finds. A glorious seaside, boat scene, likely from East Anglia, painted by artist, David Eddington. I would date it around 1980s given the vintage frame. Wonderful depiction of life at sea, being East Anglia, the landscape is flat, with endless horizons. The colours are muted suggesting early evening. The fishing boats and rowboats are high up the beach during low tide, and fisherfolk are at work preparing for the next day. Beautifully captured, serene. Colours are lovely blues, purples, pinks and greens. Painting is signed and professionally framed with a card mount, copper border, and gilt painted wooden frame. The painting is in excellent condition. The mount a little marked and has loose 'dust' in places. The frame is marked/chipped in places, but adds to its vintage charm. Glass intact .Ready to hang. Please see photos and video. More info on David Eddington below.
Size : 54cm x 44cm frame, 36cm x 26.5cm aperture

"Born in Lincolnshire in 1948, David studied Fine Art at Loughborough College of Art where he gained a Degree in painting. He then spent a postgraduate year at Goldsmiths College. After graduating he spent time experimenting with sculpture and various printmaking techniques particularly silkscreen, but as his work evolved he became more attracted to the immediacy of paint, his new work finding an appreciative audience. David specialises in English landscapes, coastal and beach scenes with an emphasis on the East Anglian countryside where he lives and works. David is able to take a moment in time and recreate the watery light of early dawn, a long shadowy evening or a sun-drenched summer beach. Accomplished watercolour and oil painting artist. His paintings can be deceptive, he eliminates the non-essential disguising the considerable skill and ability used to express the mood of the landscape."

David's work has been purchased by patrons from all over the world in addition to having a firm following of British collectors. He also regularly exhibits his work in one-man shows and in various galleries in and around East Anglia. He is always happy to under take commissions.
