Vintage Large Unique Painted Shabby Chic Oval Mirror in Farrow and Ball Wimborne White
A superb top quality genuine vintage oval mirror.
Circa approx. 1900.
The frame is made of wood with a moulded covering.
The original finish was a dark paint and not commercially viable to sell so I decided to paint.
I have applied two undercoats and three top coats of Farrow and Ball Wimborne White estate eggshell. Farrow and Ball- 'This just off white is named after the market town of Wimborne in Dorset and home to Farrow & Ball. Only a shade away from a pure white, the addition of the smallest amount of warm yellow pigment creates a very versatile shade which is just a little softer than All White.'
As with any hand painted pieces, expect minor flaws and idiosyncrasies to the finish.
It has a boarded backing and there are two eyelets and wire. Of course, you can add you own hanging method if you wish to display the other way.
The original thick glass mirror is bevelled and well preserved, there is some sporadic spotting and other minor surface marks but I would describe it as very good condition for the age.
The glass is quite heavy, and this is a very good quality piece.
All round this is a beautiful bespoke mirror and would look great anywhere in the house.
