Vintage large kilim rug in red, dark blue/black - character rug 144cm x 89cm

This is a very attractive kilim vintage rug. It has quite an intricate design for a kilim. It is a flat weave rug which makes it easy to use, move, store etc. Gives a slightly different end look and feel to a tufted pile rug. Still made out of wool, it has a different finish - a very hard wearing and attractive style rug.

I love the boldness of colours in this particular kilim. The red and dark blue/black colouring provide a dramatic contrast meaning this rug will certainly provide a bold statement and splash of colour in the room. It is an old rug - definitely vintage, possibly even antique, and so the wear is definitely evident. In places the rug has worn away and even some areas of weave are loose - see photos. Some small holes may be visible too. However the overall finished look of this rug is a quality kilim with warmth, character and vintage charm.

The rug has been hard brushed, vacuumed and sprayed making it suitable for use. It has come from a good home. However, depending on preference, you may choose to have it professionally cleaned, there are areas of staining which may or may not bother you. Being a kilim it is completely reversible so you can try and test the rug in different places and different sides.
