An amazing set of vintage industrial cubbyholes. These are almost certainly out of an old workshop, from a commercial garage, engineering works, carpentry etc place of work.
Mid 20th century and made of metal and they really are very heavy!
As you can see there is surface rust. I have briefly wire woolled it down and given it a quick spruce up with some cheap oil just to keep them looking tidy. I would personally go over it all with some linseed or Danish oil just to give it a nice sheen to the paint and the rustic finish, however they also look great as they are with the organic age worn finish.
The cubbyhole dividers can be adjusted, you'll see on the shelves there are lots of circular holes and the dividers are held in situ by clips which you unclip from the underneath. It was too dark to show these in the photographs
The top is a later addition, it is made of lovely thick chunky reclaimed pine with a natural finish.
Make no mistake, as you can see in the images, this very much has a rustic look and feel to it. They are very solid and would look amazing in the right setting.
