This is a stunning vintage hand-stitched folding screen featuring intricate embroidery work on a natural linen or canvas-style background. The elegant panel is framed in dark-stained wood and displays a serene nature scene: two green birds in flight, framed by tall cattails and trailing leafy vines, all meticulously hand-embroidered in earthy tones.

Likely dating from the early 20th century, this decorative room divider or wall decor screen exudes rustic charm and understated craftsmanship. Its elongated vertical proportions and hinged side panel suggest it was designed as a modular screen, potentially part of a multi-panel set. However, it stands beautifully on its own as a statement textile wall art or an accent screen in a hallway, lounge, or bedroom.

The rear side of the piece is covered with a plain brown fabric backing, which has aged with some creasing, but the front embroidery remains in good condition with only minor fading and wear expected of its age. The embroidery technique used appears to be crewelwork, utilizing woolen threads for a textured, dimensional effect. The simplicity of the design—paired with naturalistic detailing—makes it an ideal fit for cottagecore, wabi-sabi, boho, or Scandi-rustic interiors. This was originally part of a folding screen, so some hinges are still in situ.

There would originally have been a stretch of wood across the top.
The material to the back is loose.
There are some surface marks to the otherwise neat frame.
Some staining to the material and it doesn't fit perfectly to some areas of the edges.
The embroidery is very well preserved.
