This charming vintage hand-painted wooden side table features an intricately carved floral panel top, framed in a bold blue border with a beautifully distressed patina. Likely crafted in the mid-20th century in SE Asia / Far East, the piece shows artisan skill in its relief carving and layered paintwork, combining soft cream, muted yellow, rose-pink, and pale green tones against a deep blue cobalt background.
The table’s solid wood construction and decorative side panels make it both sturdy and visually striking. Albeit originally a solid wooden table from SE Asia - it is definitely more boho chic, rustic country, shabby chic with its hand painted finish. It almost has a European look to it too - folk style. Quite intriguing.
The carved detail is of a wood and flowers and foliage on the top surface, and some of the sides have a decoration that could be akin to an owl's face, but I don't think it is, more something mystical decorative and attractive.
Originally part of a nest of tables, hence why there are only three stretchers on the legs. Has no bearing on the functionality and look of this lovely table. This was the largest of the the nest.
