A striking vintage illustration of two English foxhounds, sporting hunting hounds, beautifully framed and mounted for display. This finely detailed artwork features two dogs mid-stride, with keen expressions and classic musculature captured in a timeless illustrative style reminiscent of 18th or 19th-century naturalist prints. The labelling on the back suggests it is drawn and painting in c 1890, but the framing is later.
With its subtle sepia tones, delicate linework, and neutral mount, the print evokes the aesthetics of old-world sporting art—perfect for cottage, library, or gentleman’s study decor. Whether you’re a lover of dogs, traditional countryside aesthetics, or vintage illustration, this framed piece offers rustic sophistication.
Appears to be unsigned, but the labelling at the back suggests Barbara Farren complete this lovely piece - there might be some signature under the mount. The frame and mount etc suggest late 20th century.
The illustration is in excellent condition. The title "To Ho" is a little bit faded, but the dogs and the ground are still very striking. The mount is mostly in good condition but unfortunately thre is a watermark of sorts in the bottom right. Frame is in good condition, just normal marks commensurate with age.
