A bold and beautiful oil painting completed on canvas. The painting depicts a woman carrying her wares, fruit, in a basket on her head She is wearing bright colourful ethnic clothing as she walks confidently to the market, or her homestead. It is a classic painting style of both African countries and the Caribbean - perhaps the person who bought this painting originally went on holiday abroad or lived abroad and bought this back as a memoir. It certainly would be the type of painting to remind you of happy times and the sounds and colours of foreign lands. Really attractive, simplistic but still carrying depth. It is an original oil on canvas, there re marks and signs of wear on the painting and canvas as a whole so please do look at the photos. However, a small bit of tlc and I think this painting would just be perfect hung up to brighten a space or bring back memories. The canvas is on a wooden frame, and there is a string to aid hanging.
