Vintage Etched Glass Art Deco Wall Mirror Unframed
This is a superb top quality retro 30’s mirror. It has a look of the standard 50’s frameless mirrors but the quality is not comparable.
The thick glass is held in situ by 6 chrome clasps that are attached to the thick yacht ply backing. The backing and the sides of the backing are both stained with a tough glossy finish.
The glass decoration is absolutely superb. It has the beautifully worked double bevel with interspersed diamond effects, I really hope you can see the detail of this in the images, it is always difficult to do justice to mirrors images.
There are two etched glass branch type motifs to each corner and a small double cross to the top centre of the glass. For the age the glass is very well preserved. There is the tiniest of chips to the bottom rear left but pretty inconsequential. There are some very tiny black spotting to the very edges but I would consider the glass to be in very good condition for the purposes of everyday use because the flaws I mentioned hardly notice I would suggest actually only add a spot of authenticity and character, although I would say that wouldn't I !
There is a long original chain. You can remove or shorten it but I always feel utilised as meant, they really add to the vintage look.
