The stool is very sturdy. There are some minor gaps in the joints, but the joints are dowelled, and this has been designed to stand the test of time and a lot of use, so it is still very, very sturdy.
There are signs of wear throughout the finish. Again, this is a functional stool, so please take a good look at all of the images and use the zoom-in facility to check out the condition. There are signs of repair to the back corners of the side and rear rail, see images.
The upholstery is pretty well preserved. The front of the hem is a bit loose but still perfectly fine; again, it was just dragged backwards from multiple uses.
An absolutely gorgeous stool, would look and useful in a hallway, sit on it as you put your shoes on and store your keys the in the compartment, great dressing table stool too.
