No this is not a place mat...‘Cries of London’ were an iconic set of prints that were highly fashionable in the middle class homes of the 60s and 70s.
Normally these were prevalent in sets of wall prints and of course table mats that your parents or grandparents maybe had!
The screen is a thick tough board which has been painted green with a gold trim about a centimetre in and gold decoration to the sides. The print is on card and has just been imposed on the screen where remarkably it has remained intact and well preserved.
You'll see in the images there are lines on the painted surface which will be from the wood underneath.
Cute feet, again painted green and gold to the sides, with a single gold line to the middle.
That is some wear to the top of the gold finish of the screen, otherwise the condition is very good.
Add some vintage character and charm to your fireplace and cover up that ugly old black sooty hole!
I've taken a lot of pictures so please take the time to study them well and use the zoom in facility so that you can really get a feel for the product and condition.
