Vintage Brass Victorian Fender.
A very lovely brass Victorian fender. The sweep of the rail gives it some real style.
I have left the finish as I found it. It is both fashionable these days to maintain the current age-worn finish as well as the traditional gleaming shiny gold finish as was intended. Depends on what suits your home. So, I am leaving you with the option of cleaning it up yourself, while not underestimating that this would be a difficult task. I used to use a product called One Shot drain cleaner for cleaning brass which is a pretty hardcore acid but works a treat!
Structurally it is intact although the left hand rail that is for resting fire irons on rotates and feels loose but it is perfectly fit for purpose still. There are minor dents and a tiny split to the back of the left hand side.
Please take a very good look at all of the images and use the zoom in facility to check the condition is adequate for you.
This would add a real bit of genuine vintage charm to your fireplace and the other advantage of keeping it as is, it does not matter if it gets around and you do not need to be precious with it.
