This charming vintage bevelled wall mirror dates to the early 20th century and features a beautifully shaped curved top frame crafted from warm toned mahogany. The rich wood has aged gracefully, showing only light marks consistent with age and adding to its authentic vintage character.
The mirror glass itself is thick and weighty, with a strong bevel that catches the light elegantly. It remains clear and bright, with only a few minor age-related surface marks and subtle foxing near the edges that are barely noticeable unless closely inspected.
The craftsmanship and materials are of a much higher quality than modern equivalents, making this a durable and timeless piece. The mirror is securely backed with original paneling and fitted with a sturdy chain for hanging.
Perfect for use in a hallway, above a console table, in a bedroom, or as a statement piece in a living area, it offers both practical function and period charm. This is an excellent choice for collectors of genuine vintage home furnishings or those seeking to bring a touch of mid-century elegance into their space.
A little bit more detail on the glass: The beautiful vintage glass has a reassuring weight and substance, a quality you simply don’t find in today’s thin, often distorted modern mirrors. This example features a thick pane with a strong, well-defined bevel, adding depth and elegance to its reflection. For its age, it is remarkably well preserved and remains clear, with only a few minor surface marks and minor scarring to the silver behind the glass, that are visible only upon close inspection. I would suggest these actually add some aged character.
Originally this would have been a dressing table mirror, the axis movements removed and the holes filled, see images.
