A classic Athena print of a painting from a Master French Artist - Jean Francois Millet. The Gleaners was completed by Millet in 1857. Beautiful honest depiction of the very poor in France, 'gleaning' remaining stalks of wheat and husk from the field after harvest. Athena took prints of famous artworks and printed/pasted them onto heavy board/wood which would then be ready to hang. This is a large version of one such picture - 72cm x 54cm. The print does have markings on it, and the board painted black also has scuffs (the edges and corners of the board can easily be tidied up with black marker or paint). However, as a retro Athena print this is a super example to have. Not as well known painting as some others, but actually a bit of a story to tell. You can read more online about how the upper French classes, fresh from the revolution, didn't like Millet's painting, and how the champagne owner Pommery bought the painting in the late 1800s; it now hangs in Musse D-Orsay.
Please have a good look at photos and video to be sure of the condition.
