This is a beautiful stripped pine Victorian over mantle mirror with a waxed finish, it is handcrafted with ornate classical lines. Its scale and proportions suggest it was designed to be a focal point, probably and over mantel mirror. However, ot would look fantastic anywhere in the house.

The frame is built up in layers using applied mouldings to create architectural depth. It features stepped coving and corner blocks, which are mitre cut and nailed in places. These corner details and ledge trims are mitred but have separated and warped slightly with age. Hence, there are notable splits and warping on both corners, although on the whole, the wood is intact, and they are still relatively sturdy and fit for purpose.

The rest of the mirror is basically in good condition, although the edge trims to the bottom moulding are both missing, although these hardly really notice when in situ.

The glass is fairly modern and there is some very brown light spotting but I think this is a deliberate feature to edge the glass.

That is a later slightly untidy MDF backing.

This is quite an astonishing looking mirror and although the corners all great and there are a few tiny pieces missing I have shown him in the photographs and one could argue they really add some vintage charm I really don't detract from the piece too much.

Apart from these corners the frame is very solid

Delivery is free to mainland England and Wales only.

This will cost us between £60-80 to deliver, so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
