Vintage Age Worn Victorian Mahogany Inlaid Wall Mirror Over Mantel Mantle

These were a very popular style of mirror in the late Victorian era. Great as a small over mantel or simply as a wall mirror.
The main carcass of the frame is made of pine and is covered in a mahogany veneer which is in good condition. The frame was beautifully inlaid. Sadly, if you look at the images, you will see some of the inlay is missing and some of it has raised and turned upwards. Within the aperture are four lengths of frame. These are independent from the main frame and are strips of word covered in a gesso with a gold finish. You can see again in the images that's some of the gold on gesso has been disturbed.
Gladly however, the original mirror remains in close on excellent condition. So, you have a lovely mirror glass with a rustic age worn frame which despite the wear is still very robust and strong and full of charm.
The mirror has a solid pine backing and two mirror plates to the top for hanging.
