This is a beautiful and top quality, I think, 1960s or 70s standard lamp.
It is made of either teak or mahogany but certainly a hardwood.
Like most standard lamps it comes in three pieces, the base and it divides at the middle of the column. These effortlessly screw together.
Having simply stood in a room for half a century the lamp is thankfully well preserved and for the age very good condition with just a few minor surface marks.
Wonderful carvings. The carving is to the top half and the bottom half and the carving goes all the way around the column. I have tried to capture this in the images and probably not done the best of jobs! The carvings are similar and each feature a tall oriental building and a couple of people.

Very Large 23" Authentic Vintage Empire Lamp Shade, Lamp Shade (59cm, 21" inch wide base)

This is a superb vintage shade of the traditional Empire style; it is a 23" (59cm) sized shade made of lovely cream, ivory, jacquard style material. Wonderfully finished with an intact 2.5" length fringe around the scalloped base. It also has an edging ribbon around top and bottom. For a traditional vintage shade, this is in very good condition. There are some minor stains on the outer material, but these are not very noticeable and can be 'hidden' depending how you present the shade ie. turn the marks away from onlookers - pls see photos and video and zoom in close. The wire frame is in very good order. Slight peeling on the top part of it. Original sale sticker on the frame, was £49.95 some decades ago - so clearly a very good quality shade when it was made.
