Vintage 1960s Mid Century Stool – White Vinyl Seat, Black Tapered Legs with Brass Caps – Retro Dressing Table Seat, vanity, vintage stool

This is a fabulous vintage stool dating from the late 1950s to early 1960s, a true example of Mid-Century Modern style. The piece has a round padded seat upholstered in textured white vinyl with a subtle mosaic-like pattern, giving it a distinctive retro look (it may not be the original fabric, but it is definitely retro in look and finish).

It stands on elegant tapered black wooden legs, each finished with brass-capped feet that add both glamour and stability. The contrast of glossy black, warm brass, and fresh white makes this stool an eye-catching yet versatile piece.

In terms of condition, the stool remains sturdy and structurally sound. The seat vinyl has only minor age-related wear consistent with use. It could well be the original, the reason I don't think it is is because of the underside and the fact that the actual top of seat is not completely flat, suggesting a redo at some point. The legs are strong, with light scuffing from use, and the brass caps have gentle tarnishing that enhances its authentic vintage charm. Overall, it presents beautifully and is ready to be enjoyed.

This stool is both functional and decorative. It can serve as a low dressing table or vanity seat, a stylish accent stool, or even as a small side table when paired with a tray. Its compact size makes it easy to place in bedrooms, living rooms, or hallways, and it adds an instant Mid-Century Modern touch to any interior. Great in a funky room, bedroom for bits and bobs, conservatory, garden room, living room, playroom.

I will send the legs unattached - they just need to be screwed back in with the cardboard plates they come with. Super little retro number for a 21st century home!
