Wonderful antique depiction of gods, goddesses, and classical beings going about daily chores. Watercolours I believe with some sketching, not 100% sure. Very attractive gold frame with stunning gold mount. The three circular paintings are beautifully presented in this frame. They are not massively accomplished paintings, but they are good and carry off this naive look at classical myths and legends. I am not 100% sure what the gods and goddesses may be providing, but I think it is some sort of mythical support to the everyday people and chores. At least that is my interpretation. But that is the wonderful thing - an interpretation that can alter for each person. Very calming in colours. The frame does have knocks and chips to it commensurate with age. It is wooden with a moulded gold gesso/plaster on it. Back is papered. Glazed and ready to hang. The paintings themselves are in vg condition adn the mount is too. Please look at photos and zoom in to be sure of what you are purchasing.
